Vita PD Dr. Alexa Patzelt

PD Dr. med. Alexa Patzelt graduated in medicine and received the doctor’s degree in 2004 at the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. In 2009, she completed her residency at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology, CharitéUniversitätsmedizin Berlin, received her specialization in Dermatology and became the deputy head of the Center of Experimental and Applied Cutaneous Physiology (CCP) at the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology. Since then, she has been advancing her scientific work with the main focus being on basic research of follicular and intercellular penetration of topically applied substances and especially nanocarriers, skin barrier investigations and the development of skin antipollution strategies. In 2017, she received her venia legendi in Dermatology and Venereology and is currently heading the junior research group Follicular drug delivery, which is affiliated to the CCP.
