Atopic dermatitis is one of the most common inflammatory skin diseases worldwide and is associated with immense impairment for those affected. Since atopic dermatitis cannot be cured, continuous care with barrier-strengthening formulations is essential to prolong the time between relapses and to alleviate them. For this purpose, the project is developing for the first time an innovative, multifunctional cream not only for pure care. The innovation of the new formulation lies in its particularly long-lasting, non-irritating, deep-acting antioxidant capacity as well as the modification and restoration of the skin microbiome. The effects of the optimized extract, a successful nano-encapsulation and the insertion into the sterile dispensers are successively tested on patients in three in vivo studies in the Department of Dermatology (CCP) for the corresponding properties.
