Measurement of redox status in blood and skin after UV stress by ESR spectroscopy.

Back to Overview

You are here:

In the project, a method is to be developed that determines the redox status in the skin or in the blood. The background to this are various diseases and premature aging of the skin, which are associated with a disturbed redox status, as well as the trend to take more antioxidants (AO) to prevent them. It is well known that increased intake of such AOs can have a pro-oxidant effect on metabolism and thus be harmful instead of protective. An easy-to-perform, fast and, if necessary, individual examination method to determine the "too much" is therefore essential to select a protective concentration and to exclude harmful concentrations.
